The impetus for this podcast comes from my experiences that I’ve had over the last 30 years as a teacher, coach, principal, university faculty department chair, and university dean. Furthermore, my wife is also in education, and she’s served as a teacher, literacy coach, instructional specialist, reading specialist, and university adjunct for over 25 years. The conversations that my wife I have about our day serving as educators when we get home from work truly reflect enormous changes in the field of education over the last 30 years – the good and not so good. But most importantly I believe we must be hearing from our teachers and school administrators on the important issues facing our kids, schools, and communities and hear the terrific, funny, and inspiring stories as to why they do what they do.
